Hi, I'm Kelsey!

I'm so glad your search for a photographer has led you here. While I've been a photographer for most of my life, I've been professionally documenting memories for nearly a decade! Over the last decade, I have been trusted with preserving some of my client's most important memories, including weddings, pregnancy announcements and births, engagements, and everything in between. I've been able to document a wide range of events, bands, creative projects, and brands; I've even produced a music video for the band Elsinore! Over the years, I've refined my craft into something I am proud to offer you, even so, I continue to seek out opportunities to grow so I can be sure I am offering you my absolute best!

A little fact about me, even after 9 years in the industry, I still struggle to write my own bios... mostly because the idea of selling myself to you makes me cringe but also because there is sooo much that makes up who we are and who I am today is not the same person I will be 5, 10, or 20 years down the line. In other words, like everyone else, I am complex and because of that I really struggle to summarize who I am in a short bio. So, I turned to the people who know me the best for help. I asked my friends and family to describe me in a few words or a short sentence and here's what they said: kind, authentic, caring, and a creative with an energetic spirit and calm demeanor who is grateful to capture some of life's greatest moments for her clients.

I can't begin to describe how much it meant to me to be described in those words because it is always my goal to be those things, not only in my day-to-day life but also in my practice as a photographer. I believe that creating a space, where you feel safe to be yourself is essential to authentically capturing your memories. When you work with me, there are no expectations. I rarely use the prompts you see all over your Instagram feed or Pinterest board, and I don't spend time adjusting every last limb and detail (although I will adjust some things when it's necessary). Instead, I primarily use open-ended prompts like "cuddle as if you're laying in bed or watching TV on your couch," and allow you to exist in the moment, exactly as you are. In my experience, this approach removes any expectations that come hand-in-hand with whatever social media has led us to believe engagement/family/brand sessions are "supposed to look like". Instead, this approach allows me the opportunity to capture your unique dynamic and relationship, because who you are is always enough!
